My introduction to a lifetime in the restaurant business was ‘weenie-maker’s helper’ in a little concession stand on Lake Erie.
Fast forward several years…my parents packed me off to Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh to be an engineer. Maybe it was working at the student snack bar that made me switch to the art department (I liked arranging the pepperonis on the pizzas). I graduated with a BFA in Sculpture.
Went to graduate school at Penn State for an MFA. Instead, I learned ‘How to fry chicken nuggets’ and ‘How to be a bartender.’
I’m originally from Wheeling, West Virginia – where I grew up in the men’s wear business and dined on meat loaf and Jell-o.
So when I moved to New Orleans to pursue my multiple goals as Men’s Wear Designer! Bartender! and Nugget-Fryer! I was thrilled to encounter something I had never encountered before…flavor.
I greedily poured spicy spices into everything. Still do. All of a sudden, food was more than fuel…it was something to live for.
Then I woke up and smelled the coffee…

Nowadays I concentrate on building sales for my many clients. Most of my business comes from referrals – satisfied FoodWineMarketing clients recommend me to others.
